And so it begins....

Follow me on my personal journey to become a non-smoker.  I've never considered myself a "quitter" in life before, but today I am proud to say I am working towards becoming a "quitter"

The journey begins this Sunday 1st May, 2011 at 9:30am.... join me.

My goal is to share my experience and by doing so I am making myself accountable not just to myself but to others too.  This I see as adding value to my ability to empower myself to achieve my goal.

I'm ready, it has begun. Jx

  1. Janine,

You are truly an inspiration! Not only to the thousands of women out there who now have a voice through you, and the passionate campaign that you have championed via Real Women Australia.

You are an inspiration to both of us (your Mum, and Dad). No, Dad’s not planning to start cross-dressing ; )

We’re talking about your energy, tenacity, bravery, creativity, and positive attitude all gained from your own personal and life experiences, and the incredible hurdles you have cleared have made you very aware that you, through ‘Real Women Australia’ can make a difference to many women in our society who are looking to improve their sense of self worth, fashion sense and lifestyle in general. Your down to earth, no nonsense approach mingled with much smiling, fun and laughter, has proved to be a winning combination as evidenced by the positive comments from all you have come in contact with you.

Now you have taken on another difficult hurdle – to Quit smoking!

As you know I (Dad) smoked heavily until finally quitting on Jan 1, 1980 when aged 33yrs (after many abortive attempts). In the 31 years since quitting we have enjoyed many great holidays, and financial security by spending, and saving the massive $$$’s bonus from quitting – an absolute minimum of $100,000! And, as another bonus I have survived, and enjoyed an extra 10 years at least, plus the (hopefully) XX years yet to come.

It’s not going to be easy, we believe in you! - YES you can do it!

Love always …. Your very proud Mum, and Dad XX

  2. Hi Janine,
Good luck... I stopped smoking and had my last cigarette on Christmas Day, sometimes I get the urge but haven't given in. Hang in there, it get's easier as you go. Don't give up, it will be worth it...
